The new trucks, powered by Westport HD, will be used on line haul routes between Montréal and Québec City, and Montréal to Toronto. ![]() ![]() July 6, 2010 Westport Heavy-Duty Engine Receives 2010 U.S. EPA Certification Westport HD 2010 15L engine has been certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to 2010 emissions compliance. The GX engine is certified and compliant to U.S. EPA 2010 emission limits of 0.2 g/bhp-hr oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and 0.01 g/bhp-hr particulate matter (PM) without the use of emissions credits. Adding to the U.S. certification, Australia’s Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government has certified the Westport HD engine in compliance with the Australian Design Rules (ADR) 80/03, which takes effect for all heavy-duty truck models starting January 2011. ![]() ![]() April 12, 2010 Westport has reached high volume scale production capability in a deal with Delphi Automotive Systems, LLC, to supply Westport’s proprietary HD fuel injectors. The South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) in concert with the Ports have previously announced funding for natural gas trucks, which is expected to add up to another 500 LNG trucks to the Ports’ trucking fleet by April 30, 2010.
